It is a more wearable version of the 80s tapered Dallas terrace casual style that the brand released back in 2010 with an 17"-18" inch slightly tapered bottom's. The style still has a relatively slim upper half and people who like a looser fit may go up a size/half to have a looser fit. I am a 32 waist and can wear a 32 and a 33 with a belt and would compare them with Levi 501.
